Stanley is a coastal town at the southern end of Hong Kong Island. It is located in the east of Shallow Bay and the west of Shi'ao. It was once a British military stronghold and administrative center of Hong Kong Island during the British colonial period. History has endowed this place with the connotation of harmony between Chinese and Western cultures. I arrived at Stanley on rainy days and walked slowly into the town, a big banyan tree, an old building, no publicized visitors, no indifferent eyes to see your Hong Kong people, asking for directions, even in English. There is a feeling of arriving in a small country in Southeast Asia. There is still an original flavor like an old car. A post office like this. The building is absolutely Victorian, old mailbox, old door sign, and the only old mailman in it. In the mini-space, I pass my postcard to the old man through the balcony business desk, and then I can only communicate with him in English to deliver requests. Time seems to go backwards. The encounter during the journey is fascinating, and the mood sent out in Stanley is absolute. There is also a Merry Building worth seeing, European architecture, Western style.
