The Red Army rushed to the Wujiang River border battle site, located at the Jiangjie River Ferry, about 50 kilometers south of the county seat of Chun'an County, Weinan County, Guizhou Province, and about 100 kilometers north of Zunyi. On January 2, 1935, the Central Red Army, according to the decision of the Monkey Field Conference, was directly commanded by Liu Bocheng, Geng Yu, Yang Chengwu led the Red 1st Army 2nd Division 4th Regiment launched a battle to seize the Wujiang River crossing at the Wujiang River crossing. The battle took the ferry fortification and the upstream smuggling method to join the way, and occupied the ferry to guard the enemy post position on January 3. More than 200 people from the ferry engineering company braved the fire and bullets, and erected a pontoon bridge of more than 150 meters with bamboo rafts and door panels on the fast river. The Red Army troops attacked through the pontoon bridge, and the enemy troops broke back. Now there is a memorial stone monument of the Red Army crossing the river on the ferry crossing of the river border, which has now been listed as a key monument protection unit in Guizhou Province.
