Tianhan Former Residence Review

Tian Han's former residence is located in No. 9 Courtyard, Xiguan Hutong, east of Dongsi North Street. The courtyard was built by the Chi brothers in the 1920s and sold to the court in 1949. In 1953, the Chinese Dramaists Association purchased the house for Tian Han according to the instructions of Premier Zhou Enlai. In this small courtyard, he completed the works of excellent Peking Opera such as "White Snake" and "Xie Yuhuan" and the drama "Guan Hanqing".
