The Washington Monument, also known as the obelisk, is the most prominent landmark in Washington, D.C., and presumably the place where visiting Washington is bound to punch in. What many people don't know is that the inside of the monument can be visited. If you go to the tourist center next to the monument in advance and get free tickets (daily limit), you can enter the inside, climb the elevator and go to the viewing platform at the top of the monument. However, this open visit is often stopped because of maintenance, so it's also a matter of luck to enter when you come. An interesting fact is that no building in Washington, D.C. can be taller than the Washington Monument, which is why there are not many skyscrapers in Washington.

In the center of the National Square, the Washington Monument is an obelisk. It was built to commemorate the first President of the United States, George Washington. It is 169 meters high. There is no text on the outside of the monument. There are 188 memorial stones donated from different places, including a Chinese monument. The inscription on the monument is taken from Xu Jiyu's "Yingwei Zhiluo" of the late Qing Dynasty scholar. Visitors can take the elevator to the top of the Washington Monument and get a full view of the city through eight lookout windows. The modes of transportation are: Metro - "Blue Line/ Orange Line, Smithsonian Station. The Washington Monument lies in the middle of the National Square. But in the morning, I went to the office next to the monument to collect the invoices. The invoices started at 8:30. The number is limited. First come first served. Or booking ahead of time on the official website, which charges a handling fee of $1.5 per ticket. The opening hours are from 9:00 to 22:00 in June to August, and from 9:00 to 17:00 in other months. This can be said to be a lot of movie scenes, spider that scene is very impressive. The object is indeed tall and solemn, with a strong sense of gravity. The surrounding area is relatively barren, but it may also be because it is winter, and the green planting is not rich. There are local people walking dogs around. These attractions in Washington are relatively concentrated and it's convenient to use the subway to travel around the city. Generally speaking, it is very friendly to free-roaming tourists, and DC is worth playing.
