As a world cultural heritage, Xidi is also a national AAAAA tourist attraction, located in Yixian County, Huangshan City, Anhui Province. Hongcun, which is not far away from Hongcun, is the two most representative ancient villages in southern Anhui. It is famous for its exquisite idyllic scenery, well-preserved village form, exquisite Hui-style houses and rich historical and cultural connotations. It is known as the village in the painting. Xidi was founded in the reign of Huangyou in the Northern Song Dynasty, developed in the middle of Jingtai in the Ming Dynasty and flourished in the early Qing Dynasty. It has a history of nearly 960 years. It is 700 meters long from east to west, 300 meters wide from north to south, more than 300 households with a population of more than 1000. Because of the westward flow of water near the village and the ancient post station for delivering mail, the name "westward delivery" is known as "peach blossom source family". The whole village of Xidi is boat-shaped, surrounded by mountains, two streams passing through the village. The three Qingshi archways at the head of the village were built in the sixth year of Wanli in Ming Dynasty (A.D. 1578). They are four columns and five floors. They are magnificent and delicate in structure. They symbolize the prominent status of Hu family. Streets and alleys in villages are laid along streams, all of which are paved with bluestone. The whole village space is naturally smooth and suitable for dynamic and static conditions. The ancient buildings on both sides of streets and lanes are simple and elegant. Xidi Village has 124 ancient residences in Ming Dynasty, 124 ancient residences in Qing Dynasty and 3 ancestral temples, including Lingyun Pavilion, Shishi Archway, Ruiyuting, Taoli Garden, East Garden, West Garden, Doctor's Office, Respect Hall, Lufu Hall, Qingyun Xuan Hall, Yinfu Hall and so on, which can be regarded as the model of Hui School's ancient residential architecture art.
