Yuexiu Mountain is the afterlife of Baiyun Mountain. During the Yongle period of the Ming Dynasty, Guanyin Pavilion, also known as Guanyin Mountain, was built on the mountain. It consists of seven mountain posts and three lakes (Dongxiu Lake, Nanxiu Lake and Beixiu Lake) in the main peak of Yuejinggang and surrounding Panlonggang, Guihuagang, Mushegang, Changyaogang, and Eel Head Gang. Yuexiu Mountain is an ancient strategic place on the sea. There is a Zhenhai Building on the top of the mountain, which is now a city sign in Guangzhou.
