I am a long time vegetarian (35+ yrs) and my wife is a pescatarian with a discriminating Asian palat. Neither one has high expectations when it comes to vegan sushi. Wow we were suprised when we stumbled on Beyond Shushi at the Chelsea market. Absolutely the best food we had on a recent weekend get-away in NYC - totally yummy - and a friendly staff to boot! We highly recommend it!!!!

As a "green sushi" pioneer of the chain sushi restaurant, the sushi in the store is made of vegetables, fruits, etc., with ingenious sushi, hand rolls, dumplings, etc. The unique shape of sushi, which makes people appetite, and the taste is not inferior to ordinary raw fish sushi. The menu will change with the season.

Best veggie sushi take away in Manhattan! Original combinations and really good taste. Love it! It's a pity there are no tables, but it is nice to take away the food and eat it on the high line on sunny days.

We stumbled across this and have visited twice more. Beyond Sushi offers a vegetarian twist on traditional sushi and leaves you feeling fresh at the end. La Fiesta is a favourite

We recently had lunch at the Beyond Sushi branch at Chelsea Market and enjoyed this innovative and healthy food option for lunch. Opening Hours 11.30am to 9.30pm daily. Basically they prepare vegetarian sushi, using nice combinations of fresh ingredients, wrapped in black rice. They sell by the set, individual rolls or multiple rolls along with individual pieces. We tried the their two roll (8 pieces each) and two individual piece that was pretty good. Order came out to around US$16 and was plenty of food for two to have lunch. Both the Fiesta and the Spicy Mang rolls were made with good ingredients, served with a tube of sauce to add a bit more spice and flavour. Horseradish and large serving of weak wasabi is also provided. We prefer the strong wasabi we have here in Asia but this wasn't bad. Overall, this was a creative and fun lunch to try, particularly for vegetarian diners. Sushi fans will likely enjoy trying Beyond Sushi as well. Note: This is a take-away branch only. For a fun place to enjoy your vegetarian sushi, head over to Highline and grab a seat a block north where there is a seating area for those looking for a spot to enjoy their lunches picked up at Chelsea Market.

The first time I saw beyond sushi, I was attracted to the store by his colorful shape, and I noticed that all sushi made from vegetarian food! Yes! Vegetarian! As a carnivorous animal, I took a little look at the materials. It seems that I can also order a seasonal supply of dumplings. There are several different sauces on it. The taste is very good. This is a must-order piece sampler four different sushi composition platter. It’s so delicious that I forgot that there is no meat. There is also a mango roll. Black rice + Corn grains + Mango and some vegetables have a special flavor. There is also this hand roll wrapped in rice paper. The portion is sufficient, nutritious and delicious.~ with a cup of watermelon lemon tea, everything is so perfect ~.
