Nina's is not the easiest place to find if you are a visitor to Kathmandu - so if you are in Thamel, for example, grab a taxi and ask the driver to take you to Saleways Food Shop in Maharajgunj. When you arrive at the grocery store, enter the driveway into the parking area and walk toward the back right-hand corner, behind the "Chicken take-out shop" Nina's is a bit hidden behind a hedge and a big tree. You will be glad you did! The Menu choices are excellent from Hamburgers and Sandwiches to wonderful steak dinners, cooked just right. There are a few tables inside 2 small areas and a few out-doors. Find a spot, stay and enjoy. No traditional Dal Bhaat here - but all the dishes have a unique "twist" and your palate will be happy you persevered and found this lovely little place that those of us, who spend considerable time in Kathmandu, love.

    5/5Outstanding

Great food, fast and friendly service, garden, covered and bar service, wide selection of snacks, mains and desserts, and the inimitable Nina. Always welcome (by Neeraj anyway), great atmosphere and friendly expats and locals. Recommend the apple crumble, lemon tart, chicken fingers, steaks and burgers (with blue cheese), pork chops and ribs....in fact everything is good and tasty.

I've been coming here now for most of my lunch and dinners since just after last year's earthquake. The standard of food, service and the prices you pay give you the best value for money in Kathmandu. Nina is a great host - very attentive and keeps everything running like clockwork, even when the place is busy - which is very often! The meals on offer and quality of the ingredients would put most "fine dining" restaurants here in the Valley to shame, and the number of regulars who visit is a testament to Nina and her staff, Whether you are in Kathmandu for a visit or on a regular basis, don't miss it! There is only one "downside" - Nina's is closed on Sundays - I have turned up on a few of those and had to walk away in despair!
