The restaurant is warm, comfortable and serves tasty food. We enjoyed our ocean trout with seeded mustard potato and fettuccini main courses. This is a good option for a casual meal in Strahan.

food was tasty but overpriced for what it was , there wasnt anything else open on a very wet monday night , so we went here . disappointing price and the service was slack

We dined at Hamers on the second night of our stay, after it being recommended by reception at our hotel. I ordered the salt and pepper squid for entree and my partner ordered the bruschetta. Both were quite yummy and reasonably priced. We both ordered the porterhouse steak for dinner with a side of chips, mine with pepper sauce and his with mushroom sauce. Considering the steaks were $38, we thought the meal was average. The steak was by no means awe-inspiring and the sauces were both lacking in flavour. It certainly wasn't an awful experience, but we felt it was over-priced for what we received.

Well I may think I am a little spoils with good food for a great price in my home City Burnie Tasmania .... But what is being served up at Hamers is way overpriced for what you are getting the porterhouse steak I had was sub standard to what I normally have at my local and price over the top. The young girl behind the bar kept pouring schooners with 30mm of froth on the top ....and the other lady that was doing the keno absolutely stuffed up our keno and cost us a few dollars by not following our instructions with what we asked for. So I say give it a miss and go a couple of doors up and get a pizza at Union Takeaway
