About Reykjavik

The Icelandic language of Reykjavik means “smoke city”. It is said that when people came to settle in the 9th century, they saw the white smoke rising from the shore and mistakenly thought that the water vapor in the hot spring was smoke. So got its name. Because geothermal resources are abundant here and geothermal energy supplies energy to the city's industry, boilers and chimneys are not visible here. The sky here is blue and the city is neat and clean with almost no pollution, so it is called the “smoke-free city”.

Reykjavik's Icelandic meaning is "smoking city". Legend has it that when people came to settle here in the 9th century A.D., when they saw a curl of "white smoke" rising from the shore, they mistook the water vapor transpired in the hot springs for smoke, so they got their name. Because of the rich geothermal resources, geothermal energy can provide energy for the city's industry, so there are no boilers and chimneys here. Here the sky is blue, the city looks clean and almost no pollution, so it is called "smokeless city". Reykjavik has the lowest illiteracy rate in Europe and is a good place for creation and research. It's late in summer, and young people flock to the streets every night for social gatherings. Whenever the morning sun rises or the setting sun falls to the west, the peaks on both sides appear purple, and the sea becomes deep blue, which makes people feel as if they are in the painting.

The beauty of Reykjavik, Iceland, is beyond imagination. It's really cold in winter. Windshield and extra-thick down jacket are standard matching. This is a peaceful city. You can spend two whole days in Reykjavik. Look at Duck Lake. Enjoy the Viking boat bone sculpture again. Visit the Shark Museum. Very freehand.

Reykjavik, the capital of Iceland, is the largest city in Iceland and the northernmost capital in the world. Blue Lake is the most famous scenic spot. Harpa Concert Hall and Conference Center in the city are the most famous landmarks. Walking along the seaside of Harpa Concert Hall, I am in a good mood and enjoyable.

Reykjavik, the capital of Iceland, is so fascinating that it has lived for nine days without giving up. The sea under the blue sky and white clouds, and the colorful music hall are unforgettable.

Iceland's name is cold, but Reykjavik, Iceland's capital, is a winter paradise. Geothermal springs here. Some are in high-end spas, but most indoor and outdoor hot springs are open to the public all year round. Because of the high tax on liquor, many locals do not socialize in bars but in geothermal springs. Iceland is also an excellent place to watch the aurora borealis. Take the night bus to the city's exterior light spot, along the way the steam of geothermal springs is clearly visible.

The night in Leishi is actually very busy. All kinds of restaurants and bars are full of people, and the streets in the city center are crowded with people, with endless traffic. The night life in Leishi is well-known.

Iceland went on New Year's Day and loved the country in the Arctic Circle. Although the sunshine is short, it's not cold. The airport is small but well-equipped. I missed the business hours of the post office in the downtown area, thinking that I could not send postcards to myself and my friends. Unexpectedly, the airport was crowded with shops opening at 6 a.m. and selling stamps and red mailboxes. Thank you so much. A Good Start for 2015

The overall feeling is that this is not like a city, but more like a town, not too many high-rise buildings, no particularly wide roads or super busy traffic, there should be some, but are good enough scale, is a big town in the seaside whirring wind. Although the scenic spots are generally smaller, the seaside highway has an invincible beautiful volcanic seascape!

A long journey of more than ten hours from China to Iceland through Norway. Looking at glaciers in Iceland, although the country is now 38 degrees sunny in summer, here still have to wear winter clothes. But looking at the strange scenery of Iceland along the way, all this frozen weather was tolerated. Street View of Reykjavik, Iceland... Old buildings in the city... The wind of the North Atlantic passes through the streets... It's time to say goodbye [smile] Happy Iceland trip is coming to an end!
