Rosenborg Slot is a renaissance style castle located in the center of Copenhagen, Denmark. Completed in 1624, the castle was built for Christian IV and was used as a royal residence until around 1710. Rosenborg Slot is known for its richly decorated rooms and its copper roof. The castle grounds also contain Denmark's oldest royal gardens which are also in the renaissance style. Rosenborg Slot is open to visitors and attracts more than 2.5 million every year. On display at the castle are Danish royal artifacts, the Crown Jewels and the Danish Crown Regalia.

This palace is worth a visit, even just to see from the outside and soak up the nature in the garden! It is really a fantasy castle and only a few minutes away from the city hall on foot.

The room with the lions and tile floor alone is worth the visit! We also enjoyed the elaborate ceilings and musical instruments display.
