Pangong Tso

Pangong Tso is also called Pangong Lake. It is called "Tsomu Aungla Rinpoche" in Tibetan, which means bright and narrow lake. It is located about 12 kilometers north of Ritu County, Ali area. "International Lakes" at the junction. Pangongcuo Lake is long and narrow, running from east to west, about 155 kilometers long. The surrounding scenery of Pangong Lake is beautiful, surrounded by mountains and snow-capped mountains in the distance. The lake water is clear and the visibility is 3 to 5 meters. Due to factors such as light, depth and brightness, it presents different colors such as dark green, light green and dark blue, which is very beautiful. At night, the starry sky is a little bit, and the wide water surface reflects the sky, which is quiet and deep, and the night scene at this time also has a unique charm. There are more than ten islands of different sizes in the lake, and the famous one is Bird Island. There are more than 20 kinds of birds on the island, and the number can reach tens of thousands. The main birds are: bar-headed geese, brown-headed gulls, fish gulls, crested ducks, red ducks, etc. Head gulls are more numerous. It takes about 30 minutes to reach Bird Island by boat from the shore. However, due to the protection of birds, it is not allowed to land on the island. You can only enjoy this magical bird kingdom around Bird Island. There are several restaurants on the banks of Pangongcuo Lake. The main gimmick is the schizothorax, which is a specialty of the lake. However, for the protection of the environment and species, it is not recommended to eat. If you don't want to eat by the lake, you can drive back to Ritu County for about half an hour.
