Things to Note:
- Though they speak Ilonggo(sounds like) most nman speak tagalog and english. So no problem there.
- there’s lots of options na ferry going to tablas and you can travel any day..
- We stayed at footprints beach resort. We loved our stay there. Food was good. Expect to pay a lil more since this is a go to for most foreign travelers.
- ATMs are not much of a problem. Meron halos sa lahat ng town. But best to have cash na with you from your point of origin.
- Public transpo. No regular buses, vans or jeepneys. Challenge din yung pag ri rent. Opt to rent a tricycle nlng. We rented a trike for our daily trips. Expect to pay about P1500/day on average.

Sunsets and white sand in Bonbon
Bonbon Beach is a beautiful beach paradise in the Romblon province of the Philippines, halfway between Luzon and Visayas. It's famous for a 2-kilometer-long strip of white sandbar that connects to Bang-og. During low tide, the sandbar is exposed, and you may also walk to Bang-og Island!
If you want to make the most of your time at this beach and really appreciate its crystal blue seas and expanse of white sand, go early in the morning or late in the afternoon. The best time to visit is from January to May, when traveling by boat is the safest option.

Kalanggaman Island Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Apr)
Kalanggaman Island! The virgin island
The journey to Kalanggaman Island was an adventure in itself. The boat ride was smooth and enjoyable, allowing me to appreciate the stunning views of the crystal-clear turquoise waters and surrounding islands. As we approached the island, the sight of the long stretch of powdery white sand and vibrant coral reefs took my breath away.
Once ashore, I was greeted by the warm and friendly locals who made me feel instantly welcome. The island is well-maintained, with clean facilities and shaded picnic areas. The clear, calm waters were perfect for swimming, snorkeling, and kayaking. Exploring the underwater world was like entering a vibrant aquarium, with an abundance of colorful coral reefs and a variety of marine life.
One of the highlights of my visit was walking along the picturesque sandbar that stretches out into the ocean. It was like walking on a dream, with the crystal-clear waters on both sides and the gentle breeze soothing my soul. The sandbar is an ideal spot for photo opportunities and a perfect place to relax and soak up the sun.
For those seeking adventure, there are various activities available on the island, such as paddleboarding, jet skiing, and even camping. I highly recommend staying overnight to witness the mesmerizing sunset and the starry night sky. The tranquility of the island at night is truly magical.
The island is well-preserved and the locals take great pride in keeping it clean and pristine. There are designated trash bins and signs reminding visitors to be mindful of their waste. I applaud the efforts made to protect this natural wonder and urge everyone to do their part in preserving its beauty.
Overall, Kalanggaman Island is a must-visit destination for anyone looking to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life and immerse themselves in nature's wonders. Its stunning landscapes, friendly locals, and abundant activities make it an ideal spot for solo travelers, couples, and families alike. Just make sure to bring sunscreen, a camera, and an open heart, as this island will steal it away.

KALANGGAMAN ISLAND: THE LITTLE "Boracay"
Because of the bird shaped of the island, it is called Kalanggaman Island in Palompon, Leyte. From Maya Port, the boat took us for more than an hour to the island. The place has no inhabitants. It is best for snorkeling and water sport. Its white sand makes it like Boracay but no major restaurants and accomodation. I walked around the island for almost an hour and enjoyed swimming for several hours. It was a very refreshing experience. Trip.com brings me from Manila to Tacloban City. At Tacloban airport, I travelled by car to Palompon which is about 121 kms for almost 2 hours. Tiring but my experience is worth remembering. #sea#island Travel#tripblazers
1of the 7107 Islands in the Philippines
If you're planning a pristine and serene holiday destination to get away from it all pack your things and head for the municipality west of Ormoc city,Palompon,Leyte where you can find the stunning landscape of Kalanggaman Island.
It is distinguished for its crystal clear blue waters, white pulverulent sand and its elongated sand bars that surround both sides of the majestic island. You may bask in the sun and wander along the stretch of white sandbar.Relishing a delicious lunch overlooking the beautiful waves from their tree houses.
As for me, it was really a holiday of a lifetime.
