The Piazza della bocca della Verità contains the Temples of Ercole and Temple of Portunus. The legend of Bocca della Verità (Mouth of Truth) says that if you place your hand in the mouth and have lies on your conscience, the mouth will bite your hand. You arrive to Bocca della verità in 10 minutes by walk.
Do not miss a visit to the Basilica of Our Lady in Trastevere. This Basilica is one of the oldest Churches of Rome. The basic floor plan and wall structure of the church dates back to the 340s. After the visit, do not look at your map and just get lost in the nice small cobblestone streets of Trastevere. You will find plenty of bars & restaurants where to relax and have a good time.
Every sunday night you can assist at the celebration with chants and procession of the oriental rite and also admire the beautiful mosaics.

Legend says it will eat the hand of a liar. It was closed when we walked by so we took a free photo of this iconic movie prop.
