It is best to do enough homework to go to the Pantheon. In addition to the history behind the building, you also need to know the origin of each painting, statue, and tomb. Such as "The Virgin and Her Mother Anne", "The Virgin Mary gave the belt and Saint Nicholas of Bari", "The Statue of Saint Agnes of Rome".
It can be seen that on the tomb of Raphael, one of the "Three Great Masters" of the Renaissance, is a statue made by his student Lorenzeto-Madonna of the Rock. On the right hand side of the Madonna of the Megalith is the bust of Raphael, but on the left The shrine was empty, because Raphael did not marry the niece of the cardinal he was married to until his death at 37.
In the city centre, very imposing attraction, certainly worth a visit. Entrance is free and inside there is a lot to see
the best and amazing building ive ever seen.
very beautiful and it has a magnificent atmosphere
I always forget how beautiful the Pantheon is!! It is gorgeous on the inside and has so much history! I also forget that it’s a church... it doesn’t seem like it would be until you get inside. A beautiful piece a architecture... like a giant work of art! Definitely a must see as you’re wandering through Rome.
