A jewel in the Alps This winter, I accompanied my wife to the beautiful Salzburg, Austria, to enjoy the Alps. We arrived at Gerlopass before lunch time and booked a passage for one of the antique electric boats, which glide silently on the clear green water. The water in the valley is so pure that it is said that the melted snow on the snow-capped mountains can be consumed directly. In order to protect the lake environment, motor boats and swimming are not allowed here. It is almost like a fjord, enclosed by granite mountains on both sides. Once, the captain stopped the ship and blew the horn. After a delay of more than a few seconds, the music was drawn back to us. There is a small peninsula extending into the lake, behind which is the spectacular Alps. In winter, the Alps are covered with thick snow, leaving only a thick coniferous forest to be seen. The color of this season can only be described as white, because it looks solemn. The opposite is the color of the lake, which is black, clean and cold to black. Of course, it may also be a matter of viewing angle and light. On this sunny afternoon by the lake, there are endless opportunities to take pictures. We ate fresh trout while admiring the beautiful lake and mountains on the boat. Our chef told us that this trout was caught at 4:00 in the morning that day. It's really delicious and endless aftertaste. The brass band started playing and we found ourselves surrounded by beautiful melody and languages from all over the world. After the ship docked, we found another supply station for a cup of coffee. Then continue to watch this lake, this mountain, this forest. Tips: 1. The cost of a tour around the lake is 20 Euros. 2. The winter in the Alps is very cold, so do a good job of protection against cold and warmth.
