A truly great place to see a baseball game, and I'm a huge major- and minor-league fan who has traveled across the country just to see my favorite teams play. If you've got kids, check out the lawn seating back by the playground area. If you're into local food, you can get fish tacos and Fillipi's pizza right at the park (of course, this being California, you can get sushi and wine, too). Omni Premier Club seats let you enter through the Omni hotel's dedicated gate (think of it like an express lane into the park) and also hang out in the bar area of the enclosed clubhouse, plus gets you seats right behind home plate. Score!
Home of the SD Padres.. Petco Park opened in 2004 and immediately became know as one of the 'World's Best Ballparks'! You must see it to believe it! Check out the stunning views of the Bay and SD Skyline. The food at the park is pretty good and if you're wanting something nicer, check out one of the 100s of nearby restaurants, bars, clubs and lounges. Public transportation makes it easy to catch a game and not have to deal with a parking nightmare.
Such a beautiful baseball park. Sadly I have only been to a few ballparks in my life but this one is definitely the nicest one. Although I miss watching games at the old Qualcomm Stadium, this park definitely helped make the transition a little easier. Great view of the field from anywhere you sit and just a beautiful atmosphere in downtown San Diego. Definitely a place I always find myself wanting to go back to.
Whether you are a Padres fan or another team, go catch a game if you can, this park is something to see - amazing views of the city and a great park to catch a ball game. They have a little field for the kids to play on in the grassy area (those seats are just $5, so it's actually affordable too). Get your hotdogs and popcorn and cracker jacks and check out a day or night game, it will be fun no matter what!
Warning: do not be shocked to find more away team fans than Padres fans. Have been to a few games this past season and always surprised to see the masses of visitor fans in the crowd. Great game regardless and the park is a gem. You'll find tons of things to do (other than watch the game); food, activities for kids, etc.
Everybody knows baseball is the BEST sport of all! Petco Park is awesome even if the Padres aren't so great. Dont worry, this is just a cardboard cut out of Jake Peavy. That is my neighbor... Go down to Little Italy for dinner and then go to a game if you are in San Diego during baseball season.
Petco park home of the San Deigo Padres. Located in the heart of the Gaslamp district downtown. Beware a lot of the people in San Diego are not from San Diego so the team spirit is not as you would expect. It's great for family or out with friends. The lawn seats that are available are a great deal!
