Adjacent to Piazza del Duomo, Piazza del Welle is a beautiful square in San Gimignano, a small medieval town in Siena province, Tuscany, Italy. The well square is located at the intersection of the two main streets of the small town: the Francigena road running north-south and the Pisa-Siena road running east-west. Since the 13th century, the adjoining Piazza del Duomo has been the religious and political center, while the Square of Wells has been the place for markets and festivals and competitions. The well square is triangular and slightly inclined, and there is an octagonal well from 1287 on the square.
