Sabah Hotel Sandakan Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Mar)
Langkah Syabas Beach Resort
The environment is so quiet. U can only hear the sound of the frogs & insects. Pool was ok but bit dirty. The kids like the pool's slide. Food was ok but no not much choice (less thn 10 dishes on menu) complimentary b/fast was buffet & serving simple dishes. The beach is nice but not suitable for swing. Muddy. The sunset view was beautiful 👍👍. Overall was a good trip. Will definitely come again😊

Sepilok Orangutan Rehabilitation Centre Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Mar)
Sepilok Orangutan Rehabilitation Centre
This center is located in the Malaysian state of Sabah, near the city of Sandakan. The center aims to help orphaned animals, baby orangutans who are left without parents or grown up in captivity adults. As you know, this species of animals suffered the fate of being on the verge of extermination by poachers, however, Malaysians are fighting for the fate of orangutans, who were unable to live in the wild.
Visitors can watch the feeding of animals, which are scheduled to gather near the viewing platforms. There is also a tropical forest on the territory of the center, where you can walk along the trails and try to see rare animals and birds with your own eyes.

Superb Sanctuary for orangutans in Sepilok!
Visit Sepilok Orang Utan Sanctuary for up close viewings of these amazing animals! Come for feeding time at the platform (10am) or go to the nursery (9am) and sit in an air conditioned room whilst seeing orang utans of all ages and sizes! You can fit both in timewise too! The feeding is optional for the orang utans as the centre is in the rainforest with no boundaries. It is used as a training centre for orphaned young orang utans. Bring a camera, water and spend all the time available here (open till 12noon for morning session). Lots of people leave after the 10am feeding but you can see them for as long as the place is open as there's lots of food for them. A thing not to miss!

Sepilok Orangutan Rehabilitation Centre Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Mar)
Monkey Business
What an experience visiting the Pusat Pemuliharaan Sepilok Orangutan Rehabilitation Centre. Seeing three momma Orangutans 🦧 traversing the trees and feeding their babies is a truly special thing to witness.
The Orangutans are free to roam and can leave the forest when needed. As for the orphans they are kept and taught how to survive in the forest before being released!

Short Vacay At Sepilok
Having fun seeing the monkeys that we only can see at Sepilok Sandakan. it was an awsome experince.
If you wanna come here have to check on the monkey feeding timetable so you will be able to see the monkey.
need to put on your sport shoes to come here, cuz its a far walking into the jungle. also need to be quite while the feeding session, cuz the monkey is afraid of strange noise and they might scared and not come to the feeding place.
however its a fun experince. we come during the after pendemic, so the cafeteria is not available yet, so ear first before you come to visit. cuz no food allowed in the jungle ya.
Labuk Bay Proboscis Monkey Sanctuary - Entrance Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Mar)
Labuk bay proboscis monkey sanctuary - Borneo
This park is notable for the fact that it is inhabited by proboscis monkeys, which live only in Borneo, and their population is rapidly declining. This is due to the fact that planting of various types of agricultural plants and trees is actively developing in Malaysia, and the jungle is gradually being destroyed.
Proboscis monkeys are completely harmless to humans, they are very cute and friendly creatures. Labuk Bay Park is a place where these animals can live and move freely, there are no cages or any fences. However, they are still a little afraid of humans and won't let you get too close.

The mysterious trail of the wild long nose is a must-see for Sabah.
The proboscis monkey is a unique and rare animal in Sabah. Think carefully. In fact, there are more monkeys than monkeys. I don't know if we are watching monkeys or monkeys watching our stupid humans.
Local residents live on a drainage house in the picture. The children in Sabah started to be watery from an early age. Swimming, diving and driving a boat are a piece of cake for them.
7pm, until the night falls, it is a good time to watch the fireflies.
Never thought that the first time in 30 years, fireflies were seen in exotic countries.
Sabah, Malaysia, can be described as a land of people. There are many wild animals living in the tropical rain forest. The proboscis monkeys are Malaysia's national treasures. Only the Borneo area in the world can find this species. It is listed as an endangered animal in the world and is larger than China. Pandas are also precious. In 2016, the World Conservation Union announced that the threat level of giant pandas has been reduced from endangered to vulnerable.
In the suburb of Sandakan, the second largest city in Sabah, there is a Labuk Bay Proboscis Monkey Conservation Center, which is open to visitors and can be closely contacted with proboscis monkeys. The
staff members feed the proboscis monkeys for four periods of time each day, which is the best time for visitors to observe the proboscis monkeys at close range.
In this protection center, about 60 proboscis monkeys come to eat every day. The biggest feature of these monkeys is that they have a long nose. The locals think that the longer the nose of these monkeys, the more handsome they are. Some monkeys The nose even covered the mouth and affected the eating.
The proboscis monkey is the only species found to be ruminant but not ruminant. These monkeys look big and have a large, bag-shaped stomach in their stomachs.
Every day at a fixed time, these proboscis monkeys slowly came out of the woods and waited in front of the feeding station. The relationship with the staff is already familiar.
Excellent trip to the proboscis monkey sanctuary. feeding time was delightful and the monkeys are so confident and not scared at all. there is also a possibility of spotting a silver leaf langur in the trees, we were fortunate to see one! I would recommend this place for solo, couple or family visit. the price was 60rm for entrance and you'll need a driver to get you to the feeding platform waits quite far from the ticket gate
