Taojin Mountain is a provincial scenic region, located in the west of Shaxian County. Its construction began during the Song dynasty, continued through the Yuan dynasty, and completed during Ming dynasty. In addition to having a great view, it offers a rich insight into ancient culture. The main features of the region are the Buddha Relic Pagoda, Dingguang Zen Temple, Huayan Hall, and Bathing Moon of Mountains, Eighteen Arhats, Song Gui fragrance, millennium tree of iron, Cave of Buddha's light, etc. There is a big mountain behind the lying Buddha, and the two seemingly blend into one, creating a mysterious yet spectacular sight. Taojin Mountain is also the place where the ancestral Buddhist priest Pan Liaoquan from the Tang Dynasty became a monk and attained enlightened.
