The landmark of Nanshan Cultural Tourism Zone is the 88 m tall Nanhai Guanyin (Goddess of Mercy of the Southern Sea) statue. It stands impressive offshore linked to the land by a causeway and looking into 3 different directions with her 3 faces and bodies. It is visible and stands out when you look down from the skies when your flight is making it'd approach onto the Sanya Phoenix airport. Otherwise the Nanshan temple is the other attraction you must visit in this tourism zone.

A good place if you wants to find peaceful mind and visit Buddhism Temples. Entrance fee is a bit overprice but I think its similar other sightseeing places in Sanya. Shuttle bus “ding ding che” is worth to buy ticket then you can hop on-off and visit different spots. There were quite a lot of people around Big Guanyin Statue but less people with better scene of temple, moutain and ocean in Nanshan Temple. I also saw hotel, vegetarian restaurants and some people studying Buddhism if you consider for stay there for a night.
great place to visit and spend some time
Nanshan zone and temple is just amazing! The Buddha is really impressive, beautiful and huge! It’s surrounded by the sea and mountains. the views are stunning! Definitely worth it the visit!
It is a nice place to visit. Me and my husband went there to learn more about it but sadly found absolutely everything in chinese. How are foreigners supposed to learn and understand? So in this case I want to thank google for teaching us about this interesting place. It’s a little expensive I guess and far away from downtown.
