About Liberdade

Oriental Street, also known as the Free Zone, has a distinctive oriental culture. At the beginning of the 20th century, the Brazilian government attracted a large number of laborers from Asia through corresponding policies, an important part of which was immigrants from Japan. These immigrants are now gathered in Oriental Street of Sao Paulo. From the banks of the street to the shrines in the depths, all of them are Japanese-style, and even the street lights have integrated the elements of the torii. In addition to Japanese descendants, there are many descendants of Chinese and Koreans living in this neighborhood, and there are many Chinese-run restaurants, shops and travel agencies.

There are many Japanese immigrants in Brazil, and the Oriental Street in Sao Paulo is where Japanese descendants live. Coming here, you seem to have come to the Japanese market, where there are all kinds of Japanese snacks and crafts or daily necessities. Even some street scenes have the taste of Japanese withered wood mountain, which is worth visiting.

Oriental Street, which is located in the Oriental Immigrant Business District, has a history of Japanese Street - Chinatown - Oriental Street, and is marked by the culture of many Asian immigrants. It is said that among the local Asian people, the Japanese are the most and the Chinese are relatively less. Brazil has no ethnic discrimination.

Oriental Street is also called Freedom Street. In fact, more meaning is to gather the meanings of many Oriental faces, including China, India, Russia and so on. Many cheap things are sold at good prices. They can be purchased and the overall feeling will not be chaotic.

This is a Japanese gathering area. Many of the things sold here are oriental or Japanese. There are obviously many more faces of Orientals here, of course, most of them are Japanese. There are many street vendors. Every vendor buys different things. It's interesting. The vendors are very enthusiastic and will still smile if they don't agree on the price. Because it's a shopping spot, for those of us who don't like shopping, we can take a look at it and buy some souvenirs to withdraw the lunch we had at the Japanese restaurant on Oriental Street at noon. There is also a museum of Japanese immigrants near here, but it can't be found.

Originally, a large number of Japanese immigrants came to China, Korea and many other countries, so now it is also called Oriental Street. Walking on the streets, you can see Japanese restaurants and KaraokeS everywhere, as well as Asian-style shops such as Chinese restaurants. The decoration of lanterns in the streets also shows a different feeling from that in South America. We can also see many fellow countrymen's associations in China and even dragon dance halls. Try the daily dishes here. It tastes good, especially in Brazil. It's worth trying.

There is a strong oriental cultural atmosphere here, there are many Chinese, Japanese and Korean people living here, there are many Chinese restaurants, but the environment here feels ordinary, not very clean, to eat Chinese food is OK.

The neighborhood is great. There are many Japanese shops. There are markets on Sundays. You can buy Chinese and Japanese food, and there are also small handicraft stalls. There are also some Japanese restaurants here, cheap ones as well as expensive ones. It would be better if it were cleaner and fewer vagrants around.
