Wow, this museum is full of Korea's history. It's definitely worth a stop for those who want to take a look and see what historical Korea looked like (the palace grounds) and also go back in time and learn about the king's clothing, daily routines, and view artifacts. My group didn't have much time here and we spent all of our time trying to get through the different floors of the museum that we didn't explore the other palace buildings. A friend took photos of palace guards marching outside and she also got a photo with one (he was looking a bit stoic). In the museum, you can grab postcards from the front desk and stamp them with the corresponding imprint. It's a free memento; there's also a museum gift shop downstairs.
This has many treasures. I loved the artifacts but most of all what royal life looked like was my favorite. What was the best feature was the modern facilities and air conditioning.
The museum is located in Gyeongbokgung Palace. It has 2 floors above ground and 1 floor underground. There are 15 exhibition rooms. There are guidebooks in various languages at the door, and there are cabinets for storing things. It mainly houses cultural relics and collections of the Joseon royal family. There are as many as 40,000 pieces of palace costumes, accessories, calligraphy and painting, utensils, etc., which are very gorgeous, and many familiar Chinese characters are seen. The venue also has intelligent interaction between light and shadow. The rice noodles are the history and culture of the Joseon Dynasty. There is also a stamping place on each floor, which is very interesting.
Stores the historical and cultural heritage of South Korea for more than 500 years. You can also borrow a Chinese explanation server at the information desk with your passport. The price is 1,000 won. The museum is divided into three floors. At the entrance of the museum, there is a tour map and a commemorative postmark card. There is a commemorative postmark in front of each exhibition hall that can be stamped as a souvenir. The screen behind the throne is Kunlun Mountain, with five peaks, the sun and the moon, a white moon and a red sun.
