Mingyang Hot Spring Resort is located next to Mount Lei in the south of Henan Province. The resort is situated in beautiful surroundings and is known for its year-round supply of crystal-clear spring water. The Qing dynasty Qianlong Emperor visited here, and a royal baths was built here during the reign of the Jiaqing Emperor. The resort has a traditional Chinese garden and a number of outdoor Japanese-style pools surrounded by picturesque scenery.
Huangbaishan National Forest Park is in the southwest area of Shangcheng County, Henan Province. It borders Hubei in the south and connects with Anhui in the east. With much forest coverage and fresh air, it is a "natural oxygen bar." The altitude of the forest area is high, with many peaks. There are abundant animal and plant resources, such as giant salamanders, leopards, pangolins and other rare animals. The national forest park also has different species of trees, and most of them are of high quality and value. Recent years, Huangbai Mountain has been under intense development to become a key tourist destination in the county.
Jinggangtai (Xihe) Ecotourism Area is in Shangcheng County in Xinyang City, Henan Province. You find waterfalls, flowing springs, red historic sites, alpine tea gardens, popular science educational activities and a resort spa. The scenic spot consists of three parts: Tea Valley, Huatuo Valley and canyon rafting. There is an abundance of animals and plants. Sometimes Shangcheng fat salamander, leopards, pheasants, wild boars and so on can be seen. The random growth of Paris polyphylla, Gastrodia elata, Lingzhi mushroom and other plants together create warm feelings.
Jingangtai (Cat’s Ear Peak) National Geological Park is a melange of geological landscape, subtropical views, and cultural remnants of China’s revolutionary years. The main peak, a famed towering height amongst the Dabieshan mountains, stands at 1,584 meters. Stepping inside here, one is afforded splendid views of nature; there are also trips around an ecological tea garden or tours to pay homage to relics from the revolution.
Tangquan Pool in Shangcheng County leans against the green Dalei Mountain. It borders with the rippling Wenquan Lake (Nianyu Mountain Reservoir) on the west, integrating mountains, water and springs. Tangquan Pool has picturesque landscape and pleasant climate. In addition to hot springs for bathings, there are also many natural and cultural landscapes available for tourists. Li Zhi Pavilion was built in the scenic area to remember Li Zhi, a thinker and litterateur in the Ming Dynasty. Tourists can row on the lake to enjoy the green mountains and glittering water.
