Songhu Campaign Memorial Hall

Shanghai Memorial Hall is the only theme memorial hall reflecting the two war of resistance in the country. It is built on the site of the main battlefield of the war of resistance in Baoshan. Construction began on March 22, 1999, and the museum was completed on January 28, 2000. It was opened free of charge to the public on January 28, 2003 and is the first batch of memorials to be opened free of charge to the public. In August 2014, it was named by the State Council as one of the first national-level anti-Japanese war memorial facilities and sites, and is also a Shanghai patriotic education base, Shanghai Party history education base, Shanghai volunteer service base, etc. In 2015, the Shanghai Anti-Japanese War Memorial Hall was rebuilt and opened to the public on the 70th anniversary of the victory of the Chinese people's War of Resistance Against Japan and the victory of the world anti-fascists. The second phase of the Shanghai Anti-Japanese War Memorial Hall was officially started in 2017 and opened to the public in 2019.

The origin of the building: Commemorating a history shows that the main building of the Peace Memorial Hall is built with modern building materials such as steel, glass and granite. Its appearance and shape use the architectural language of the ancient Chinese tower, reflecting the beauty of traditional Chinese architecture. Through the memorial tower and other buildings, theme sculptures, various public art works, the entire memorial hall and the memorial space of the National Resistance Against War Memorial Park are supported, forming the main line of "Anti-War, Peace and Relics" to create a sacred, solemn and solemn memorial landscape. We have given full play to the positive role of the memorial hall to promote the spirit of anti-Japanese war and inherit the red gene, and also expressed people's vision for a better future.

The memorial hall is located in the Memorial Park of Songhu Anti-Japanese War, opposite Baoyang Wharf in Dabaoshan. The memorial hall is free of tickets, and volunteers give free explanations.
