Peet’s Coffee is a franchise with over 50 years of bringing hugs in cups to coffee lovers. Although the company entered China’s market recently, they have now around 10 shops in Shanghai only. Gladly, we are in the city with most coffee shops per person.
This shop has a cute deco, calm ambience and good coffee. A nice spot if you are looking for a place to work or spend your time quietly, among the craziest areas in Shanghai.
I found interesting how they have different blends to choose, including Colombian and French, also showing their level of roasting. Personally, I’m not fan of blends or dark roasted coffee. Nevertheless, every time of the day is a good time for coffee. You never know if you can find the perfect cup while you explore coffee shops.

Paris Baguette bakery states “always think that you can eat more delicious and healthy meals even in you busy daily life”. This bakery seems to have a few stores around Shanghai. This motto has made me eat lots of carbs, many times.
The beautiful cakes, tasty sandwiches and the delicious garlic bread. I see many people to come back their steps from metro, either hungry, intrigued by variety of breads or just because the nice smell you perceive when you pass by. Even those looking at the phone are forced to look up.
Where else are you going to find a Thor chocolate cake? They are proud to say their products are freshly made everyday. Garlic bread seems too popular today as I could not find any. Always buy when I’m in the area, so delicious to eat with cheese cream!

If you are visiting The Bund area, and decide to go around East Nanjing pedestrian street there are few good options for eating a nice meal.
Pizza Marzano is a franchise that can be found in different countries. In China, there are several restaurants in Shanghai and Beijing. This is a great option if you are craving for pizza or looking for a vegetarian meal.
Pizza Marzano East Nanjing branch is located 10 minutes away from Bund scenic spot, is easy to locate the building by finding Innisfree store. They have few options on pizzas, salads and pastas. For salads, I’m always into anything with avocado.
Margherita pizza is one of my favorites, this one has a thin crust, real tomato pasta, but could have more basil and cheese. Flavor was quite good, and this particular imported cheese is buffalo cheese, like is used in some areas of Italy.

If all roads lead to Rome, all roads in Shanghai downtown lead to The Bund. Anyone whose feet step over Shanghai should visit this area. Independently of your time gap. The Bund has an energy on its own, stays in your mind and wherever you are in Shanghai, you always find yourself looking for it. You can be in, under, nearby, from any direction you can admire a gorgeous colorful lights artwork from The Bund area’s buildings.
During the day, you can admire the building structure, including sightseeing these modern architectural designs, or go up to admire the whole city. During the night, it’s when The Bund gets magical. Buildings change colors every few seconds, mixing and jumping. Never ceases to amaze me. Light artwork shows happens everyday between 6pm and 10pm, with even more astounding artwork during special holidays.
This area is full of restaurants, shops, that go for very luxurious to traditional street shops. Even some discotheques. A good time assured.

Arguably Shanghai's most-famous tourist attraction, the Bund is a waterfront promenade and famous business district in central Shanghai. Historically, the Bund was the city’s main financial and trading center, and was located within the Shanghai International Settlement, an area under nominal British control between 1843 and 1941. The walking areas extend roughly 1.6 km along the west bank of the Huangpu River. Owing to its historic status and zoning restrictions, the Bund contains fantastic examples of classic Shanghai architecture. For this reason, it is a popular spot for photography, offering the best views across the river to Shanghai’s modern skyline in Lujiazui. No visit to Shanghai would be complete without a visit to the Bund.
