Glacier #40 is situated under Mount Jomolhari, at the border between Bhutan and Lhozhag County, in the southern region of Mount Xizang, China. It got its name for being close to boundary mark #40, which is between China and Bhutan. The glacier has a very high sea level. Of the currently discovered glaciers, it is an approachable mountain glacier near land; no special equipment is needed to reach it.
Glacier No. 40 is said to have been discovered by donkey friends only in 2015. Located under the Zhuomula Rikang Snow Mountain on the border between Luoza County in southern Tibet and Bhutan, it is named after the 40th boundary marker adjacent to China and Bhutan. The glacier has an elevation of more than 5300 and is the most accessible land mountain glacier found at present.
A very primitive glacier, 5,500 meters above sea level. On the way, you can feel deeply in hell and in heaven. It is difficult to get to Lhasa without a hard off-road vehicle because it is 450 kilometers away from Lhasa, and the nearest 80 kilometers are mostly road conditions with slopes, moraines and debris. Without navigation and signs, it depends on the guide's sense of direction and memory. But when the glacier appears in front of you, all the bumps are worth it.
The most magnificent continental glaciers that visitors can directly touch. There are two glacial lakes in front of the glacier, one large and one small. The small glacial lake is directly connected with the glacier. The glacier is very tall, five or six stories high. The glacier shows a very dark blue in the sunshine. The photos are very beautiful. The colorful clothes are very suitable for taking pictures here.
The glacier is very beautiful. Our charterer is very good. His name is Lhasa Wuyuan Brother. You can Baidu it. Lhasa's net red takes us to play in the glacier. It's an unusual walk.
A place worth visiting, besides the glaciers that shocked me, the scenery along the way was also beautiful.
It's a very close glacier, but the road condition is normal.
