<p>Since it was first opened in 1964, the Memorial Hall has received more than 50 million visitors. This includes over 70 party and state leaders, as well as more than 100,000 foreign guests from more than 140 countries and regions on five continents. In April 1983, Comrade Deng Xiaoping made an inscription for the Memorial Hall's museum; on July 1, 1993, Comrades Jiang Zemin and Hu Jintao visited the Memorial Hall. Currently, the Memorial Hall has become one of the country's 100 outstanding patriotic education bases. It has become an ideal place for millions of people to remember Mao Zedong's great achievements and appreciate the man’s noble spirit.</p>
