After passing Akkeshi Station from Kushiro on the Nemuro Main Line train, the train window became Lake Akkeshi, and it became a wetland. It seemed to hit the end of the betsukanbe beef marsh, and it seemed to be one of the train windows unique to Hokkaido. I would be grateful if you could introduce me to which area you are driving in the car announcement, but JR Hokkaido wouldn't want it.
Three years ago, I was interested in looking at Betsukanbe Ushi Marsh from the JR train, and I wanted to see it for a longer time, so I stopped by by car this time. It's not as famous as Kushiro Marsh and Kiritappu Marsh, but I love the early summer scenery and nature, which is a wide 々 with a feeling of openness like a foreign country of Lake Akkeshi and the marsh connected to the sea. At the nearby waterfowl observatory, you can also observe wild birds flying to Lake Akkeshi and marsh on the screen in real time.
I was able to see it twice from the inside of the car on the Hanasaki Line (nicknamed Kushiro ~ Nemuro on the JR Nemuro Main Line), but it is a wonderful sight. I would like to visit in spring, summer, autumn and winter. Next time, I am planning a visit by rental car. The Hanasaki Line (especially between Akkeshi ~ Nemuro) has only one train per 3 time, so the plan must be carefully planned.

About 40km east of Kushiro City. The west side of Lake Akkeshi is the city area of Akkeshi, and the north 3 km north of the city area is the mouth of the Bekkanbe Ushikawa River. Bekkanbe Ushi Marsh is one of the most primitive nature in Japan, with a total area of about 8,300 ha. Ramsar Convention registered wetland. I didn't know the betsukanbe Ushi Marsh itself. It is poured into Lake Akkeshi in Akkeshi Town by a south stream, and the national highway and the JR Hanasaki Line are parallel. In the whole wetland of the betsukanbe ushikawa water system, about 40 tancho breeds every year ...
I chose it as a shooting location because I wanted to take a train that goes in the middle of the wilderness of Hokkaido with my son. I couldn't see the marsh only in winter, but it was a great sight! A deer may have his neck out from the other side of the railroad track. (See photo) There is also a waterfowl observation facility nearby, which may be fun for those who like bird watching such as wild birds.
