Doushan Street is located at the foot of Dongdoushan in Shexian City, Anhui Province, where Huizhou merchants lived for several generations. Doushan Street has a history of hundreds of years. On the narrow streets more than 200 meters long, there are many ancient buildings of Ming and Qing Dynasty. There are also two chaste archways, one is Ye's, the other is Huang's. Ye's is more famous. Legend has it that Zhu Yuanzhang's life was saved. Later, Zhu Yuanzhang wanted to marry her as his concubine, but he never succeeded. So he built this archway.
Doushan Street in Huizhou Ancient City was built in Ming and Qing Dynasty. It was named for its shape like Beidou Star. It has typical ancient Hui houses, as well as ancient streets, sculptures, wells and archways. It is the community place of ancient Hui merchants. It's very close to Huizhou Prefecture. Visitors to the ancient city of Huizhou usually come here to have a look.
From the alley into Shiquan Street, we can see the signs of Doushan Street. We have been guided by the local enthusiastic villagers to visit the houses and archways. The history of mixing with the villagers always exists here. The wooden archways are pasted on the walls and easy to see. What is of great historical value is worth seeing. If you know how to walk the path, you will feel more comfortable. All the tickets in Anhui Province are very expensive.
Doushan Street is located in the city of Shexian, named for its dependence on Doushan. It is the center of the old street of the ancient city and the gathering place of large families of Huizhou merchants. Typical houses in Huizhou include Wang's house, Yang's courtyard of official family, Xu's Hall of ancient private school, Pan's courtyard of generations of businessmen, thousands of years old "clam" well, rare "Ye's Halogen Festival Square" and so on. They are like a historical picture scroll, telling an ancient and beautiful story. The pavement made of bluestone slabs is narrow and long, just like the "Rain Lane" in Dai Wangshu's works.
Doushan Street is crisscrossed by bluestone slabs and cobblestone roads, which are accessible in all directions. Ancient residential buildings of Hui style basically keep their original appearance. Three wells in the streets and lanes, clam wells are still providing residents with water as usual, including street laundry, vegetable laundry, and carrying plastic buckets home. The house is old, but it's not dilapidated. It's a worthwhile trip.
Blue Stone Slab Lane "Doushan Street" - Locals are free to enter and exit, and I can easily enter from the busy streets nearby. Be careful of security patrols beside the main scenery. After 17: 00, there is no guard. I came here two times before N years ago and strolled through the lanes in the dusk under the drizzling rain. It was less noisy in the daytime and had a special charm.
Doushan Street is located in the old city of Shexian County. Non-local people need to buy tickets to enter the city. Doushan Street is an ancient Huizhou old street, stone road, old house, white wall and black tiles, exquisite brick doorway, elegant wood carving fence, let you lament the exquisite skills of ancient craftsmen. The pavement made of bluestone slabs is long and narrow, just like the "Rain Lane" in Dai Wangshu's works. This is a good place to look around carefully. There are still "red" marks left here. There are not many in China. Walking on Doushan Street, which was built in Ming and Qing Dynasties, feels like stepping into the old times. Despite its name, the street is actually only a 500-metre-long alley. Doushan Street has many well-known or unknown cultural and protection units, almost all of which are distributed one after another. Walking along the neat ancient bluestone road, we can see more than 100 Huizhou classical dwellings scattered in different places. We can appreciate the pink walls and Daiwa, the high walls of horses, the carved beams and paintings, and the ancient rhymes. Doushan Street entrance seems to have three intoxications. It is worth seeing - "Ye's Chastity Wooden Gateway, built in Hongwu, Ming Dynasty (1391), a rare wooden archway, it is said that Zhu Yuanzhang was also rescued by Ye at the end of Yuan Dynasty. Yangjia Grand Courtyard, the residence of the Ming Dynasty Ministry of Rites Shangshu, the three-in-one structure. The living room in front of Confucius'portrait was the place where the children were taught to read in Xu's private school in Qing Dynasty. There were 100-year-old Osmanthus trees in the courtyard in front of the hall. Huang's Jielie Gate Tower was a hunger strike for his deceased husband during the Qing Dynasty. Millennium clam ancient well is still used by the residents around it. Doushan Street is a living museum. Out of Doushan Street is Fuxue Street, not far from Huizhou Normal School.
First of all, do not buy 100 tickets, do not buy, because Doushan Street is located in the ancient city of Huizhou itself is an open pattern, there is no need for tickets at all, as can be seen in my travel notes, the most famous and need to see in the ancient city is the Xu Guo archway. Xu Guo Memorial Hall was built by Emperor Wanli of the Ming Dynasty in honor of Xu Guo, a senior minister of the Cabinet, in Yunnan Province, for his merits of rebellion, and was given special gifts to build it in his hometown, Ancient Shecheng. The only octagonal archway in the country.
Relatives who are interested in Huizhou's ancient buildings and dwellings can go to Doushan Street for a walk.
