The Liusheng Pagoda is a precious object for studying the architecture and art of the Song and Yuan Dynasties. The pagoda is a granite attic structure, with a height of 36.6 meters, a bottom circumference of about 47 meters, and five octagonal floors. Another distinctive feature of this tower is that the name and time of the builder are engraved on the beams of each tower. On the forehead of the arch on the south side of the ground floor hangs a "Huadai Stele" inscribed with "Longevity Pagoda". ” (1336 AD). The building time engraved above floor by floor is: the second floor "Suizizi Chou November" (AD 1337), the third floor "Suici Wuyin October" (AD 1338), the fourth floor "Suizi Wuyin October" (AD 1338) The second is the first month of the first month" (AD 1339), and the fifth floor is "the first month of the third month of the year". Based on this, it took 4 years for the tower to be built. Since its completion, the Liusheng Tower has suffered many earthquakes, especially the 8th magnitude earthquake in Quanzhou in 1604, but it is safe and sound. The Kangjiang River and Shihu Lake under the Liusheng Tower were important outer ports of Quanzhou in ancient times. According to legend, there were 18 ferries here, and nearly 100 ships from Asian and African countries were parked here, and sea traffic was very popular for a while. In the early Qing Dynasty, it became the central terminal for the ferry between the mainland and Taiwan. Liusheng Pagoda has been weathered for more than 800 years. It is like a red candle holding the sky, radiating light, illuminating the "Silk Road" at sea, clearing the way for the navigator Zheng He's fifth voyage to the Western Ocean, and guiding the intimate exchanges between compatriots on both sides of the Taiwan Strait. When people slowly climb to the top of the tower, they can overlook the vast strait and the boats that travel back and forth.
