Dongyue Temple

Dongyue Temple is located on the bank of the Shishou River Bay, a wonder of the Yangtze River in the world-famous Jiuqu ileum, and lies in the Dongyue Mountain of Jingjiang Xiufeng, a famous mountain in Chutian. It is the essence of the landscape on both sides of the Jingjiang River. Dongyue Temple has a long history. According to historical records: in the early period of the era, Buddhism was introduced to Shishou, and Dongyue Temple was built on the top of Dongyue Mountain in the second year of Qianyuan in the Tang Dynasty (AD 759). By the Ming and Qing Dynasties, Buddhist monks appeared twice, and incense was even more prosperous. , the building is more majestic, and it has become an important dojo in the combined area of the two lakes and plains. It was eventually destroyed by war. The area of Dongyue Temple is stretched with mountains, surrounded by mountains and rivers, and there are many people. Liu Bei, the master of Shu, held a wedding here; Ge Hong, a medicine immortal in Jin Dynasty, made alchemy in this kind of jade; Du Fu, a poet of Tang Dynasty, made a boat here early; Layman Huang Tingjian wrote poems and plaques here; Ming Dynasty Wen Xing Yuan Zhongdao recorded his travels here. When you climb up to Dongyue Temple and overlook the railing, you can also see: the modern city of Shishou blends with the vast fields of the Yangtze River, the water and sky are the same color, the rays of the sun dye the river gulls, the river beaches fly with reeds, and the beautiful natural landscape of a hundred gallops competing for the upper reaches. Since the restoration of the Dongyue Temple Buddhist Dojo in 1995, various palace buildings have been built successively. Dongyue Temple stretches for a kilometer from south to north along Dongyue Mountain. The weather is magnificent. Temple construction is in the ascendant. Tianwang Hall, Daxiong Hall, Guanyin Pavilion, Nianfo Hall, Dongyue Temple Vegetarian Restaurant, Yanshou Building, Haihui Building, Zhaitang, Monk Each has its own characteristics. The statue of Buddha is solemn and quiet, the tower furnace is treasured, and the clouds are faint; the vegetarian restaurant has a wide variety of vegetarian dishes, with a variety of colors, fragrances and deliciousness; the morning bell and the evening drum, attracting people, pilgrims and tourists are in an endless stream, and Buddhist activities are in an orderly manner.
