The Nanguan Mosque was built a long time ago. At the end of the Ming Dynasty, the original temple was located in the "Gongbei" pavilion outside the Nanguan Pass in Yinchuan, and the scale was small. In 1916, the temple site was moved into Nanguan, and a large temple with classical style was built. In the 1960s the monastery was completely destroyed in the turmoil. In 1981, the majority of Muslims raised funds to rebuild at this site. The main hall of the reconstructed Nanguan Mosque is 26 meters high, facing east from west, with an area of about 10,000 square meters. The main hall has two floors with a circular vault, the upper floor is the main hall and balcony, and the square worship hall can accommodate more than 1,300 people for worship. The lower floor has a spacious shower room, a small prayer hall, a female prayer hall, an Arabic school, an imam's bedroom, an office, a reception room, etc., all connected by a corridor. In the center of the building stands a large and four small green dome decorations. The large one is in the center, with a diameter of 9 meters, and the crescent moon hangs high at the . The small one is 3 meters in diameter. Magnificent. There is a staircase leading to the upper floor in front of the main building, and flower beds are planted on both sides. In the middle of the front of the hall is a fountain with a diameter of 15 meters, surrounded by flowers and trees, and a 30-meter-high "minaret" is built on both sides. Many precious cypresses and various trees and flowers are also planted in the monastery. The entire building has a strict layout, compact structure and grand scale. With its unique, elegant and solemn features and strong Islamic architectural art style, the Nanguan Grand Mosque has become one of the key places for religious activities and tourist attractions in the autonomous region open to the outside world. In recent years, leaders, envoys and friends from more than 90 countries and regions have visited. Many overseas Muslims also visit here for worship.
