水上村庄空邦鲁 authentic...15+3 dollar entrance fee.totally worthy. the most interesting stuff is on the way there, due to rain season, all the roads are flooded, tuktuk just driving right in something nothing less than a tiny river, yet every cambodian live, play and work in the water as usual.kids ll climb on tuktuk to hitchhike a little, i even saw a elderly woman sitting in the water, meditating...as to kongpong phluk itself, they are minding their own business, so people can always get the most authentic experience. i wish i could stay much longer.

Floating Village and Flooded ForestWe wanted to see a floating village which is pretty much a village on stilts, it was about a half hour tuk tuk ride out of Siem Reap. It was an amazing sight. Seeing the people go about their daily lives in a home above water was such a learning experience. They have floating shops and restaurants. We stopped at one cafe and had something to drink. I realized that it was their home as well and they welcomed us back to take a look. It looked to sleep about 6 people, I saw a newborn baby sleeping in a hammock out back. I can see the water through the floorboards. After going through the floating village, they took us on a smaller row boat into the flooded forest. It is exactly how it sounds. We are in water looking at the top of trees as the water level is so high, the trees are under water. This side trip is a must and a great break after seeing the dozen temples around Angkor.

A small floating village just outside of Siem Reap. It was mostly untouristy till recent developments bring more tourist crowds to the little floating village. Due the higher westerner visitor rate the prices to visit the floating village increased and more scams are practiced.
In my option the second best village on the Tonle Sap. Here you will see the bamboo stilted houses and take a boat ride along the Tonle Sap. The boat ride is usually 1.5 to 2 hours. Still not very touristy, which is nice, and a great way to see rural fishing life. If you come after the rainy season ( November to Feb ) you can explore the flooded forest. Get a small canoe and boat through the mangrove trees, really nice.
