Nice story
Charming story and nice statue. Worth stopping off for 2 minutes to take a photo. But I wouldn’t recommend making a diversion.
Statue of Just Nuisance
The background to the story of this dog, loved by local sailors is told on the wall of Bertha's Restaurant in the arcade next to it. Part of the interesting local history of this lovely little town.

Such fascinating history
I have visited the statue many times, but didn't know the complete history is on a board on the wall of the little shopping centre next to the statue. It was fascinating reading.

The actual grave, high up on the mountain above Simons Town is maintained by former naval graduates of HMS Ganges in Suffolk, UK.
