The ancient city of Sinan was built in the 6th year of the Jian'an period during the reign of the Hanxian Emperor of the Eastern Han Dynasty at the same time that Yongning County was established. There are many ancient relics in the ancient city, and the most famous of these is the Sinan Confucius Temple. The Sinan Confucian Temple was built in the Yuan Dynasty and rebuilt in the 20th year of the reign of Emperor Jiaqing. The reconstructed Confucius Temple is large in scale and simple in architecture. In the ancient city, there are many scenic landscapes such as the Tenglongxia Scenic Area, the Siyeyu Scenic Area, and the Wujiang Museum. The entire ancient city is full of rich classically styled places and, overall, is very elegant.
