Fly directly to Kastamonu in September... visit the town, the mosques, the Castle... eat local food, very nice... go to all of the Canyons, no canyon can be that high, breath the fresh air, swim there...
Ilgaz is not large, in fact it only has 2 slopes, but its a nice little resort. We came for a day from Ankara, just took the bus, was a good time. I wrote about it at http://blog.thecheaproute.com/s...

Especially now septembers last days, really good to be here. Snow is enough for ski. We love the national park view so much. Advise to be here

Not world class, but fun to ski in Turkey
