Sochi, the summer capital of Russia, is located on the Black Sea and is known as the Pearl of the Black Sea. The Black Sea is the main sea route connecting the inland of Eastern Europe, Central Asia and the Caucasus out of the Mediterranean Sea, so its strategic position is very important. The Black Sea Passage was the only route on the northern route of the ancient Silk Road from Central Asia to Rome. Especially for the Tsarist Russian dynasty that has risen since the 17th century, the Black Sea and the Baltic Sea are the lifeblood of the country's relationship with Europe. The Black Sea is one of the deepest inland seas in the world. The Black Sea itself is deep, and the water that the Black Sea flows from rivers and the Mediterranean Sea is less salinity and therefore lighter, and they float on salty water. The Black Sea is a residual basin of the ancient Mediterranean. At the end of the Paleocene, Asia Minor was uplifted, and the Black Sea separated from the Mediterranean Sea and gradually formed an inner sea.
