Sheshan Basilica is a prominent Roman Catholic church in Shanghai. Its name comes from its location on the western peak of Sheshan Hill, located in Shanghai's Songjiang District. The first church on Sheshan Hill was built in 1863. During the Cultural Revolution, Sheshan Basilica was severely damaged. The stained glass windows of the church, carvings along the Via Dolorosa, the statue atop the bell tower, and various other works of iconography were destroyed. After the end of the Cultural Revolution in 1976, the damage was gradually repaired. The Basilica's position on top of Sheshan Hill make for excellent photographs and contribute to its continued admiration.
In the afternoon of the rest day, I had nothing to do. I turned up the old pictures of playing in Sheshan, and thought of Sheshan, which N had not been to for a long time. Seeing the good weather, I didn't have much trouble. A man drove to Sheshan. I've been here many times before, but I remember riding downhill from the platform to both sides of the mountain, not really seeing the church at the top. This time I want to enjoy the building quietly by myself. Selected the time of nearly 17 o'clock specially, accompanied by the sunset, the red exterior wall was illuminated with a special beauty, a bit like a bloody monastery. Because of respect for religion, the inner hall was not photographed. Visits do not require tickets, and there are not many people during the visit. Some devout believers kneel outside to pray to the statue of the Virgin Mary, and many young people will move around the building, but generally speaking, it is quiet. I left with my staff. When Grandpa and Grandma locked the iron gate, they chatted a little and learned that they were all volunteers living at the foot of the mountain. When watching the sunset melt in the wall, the soul seems to be a wash. Beauty has always been that simple.
The Hall of Notre Dame of Sheshan, the full name of Sheshan Church, is also known as the Cathedral of Notre Dame of Sheshan, the Cathedral of Heaven of Sheshan, the Hall of Notre Dame of Sheshan and the Hall of Notre Dame of the Far East. Located at the top of Sheshan Mountain in Songjiang District, Shanghai, China, it is a famous pilgrimage site for the Chinese Catholic Church and the same name as the Notre Dame Hall of Rhode in France. In 1942, this hall was designated as the second class of the throne by the Pope of Rome, and it was the first holy temple in the Far East to be crowned by the Pope. In 1946, the Holy See granted the coronation of Notre Dame of Sheshan to Thorn. Sheshan is the only active national Catholic pilgrimage center in China. It was founded by French missionaries in 1871 and completed in 1935. As early as 1844, Nanglu, a French missionary, adopted the four structures without wood, nails, steel and beams, which could be regarded as an example of asymmetry. Since the 1940s, it has been a world-renowned Catholic shrine and the main pilgrimage place for Catholics in China.
Unexpectedly, there is such a good church here, or historical preservation of cultural relics. Because today is the weekend, many people go to church and visit again! Catholic doctrine is very good, very suitable for the busy city life and work adjustment now!
It's worth visiting. She Shan is free of charge. This is the only high mountain in Shanghai. There is a church and an observatory on it. The church doesn't charge, and the observatory charges! But within 20 yuan, the scenery here is beautiful, cool and comfortable in summer! In a city like Shanghai, the pressure of work is very high. When the weather is good on the weekend, you can come here and look around. You will feel very comfortable! What are you waiting for? Come on!
Sheshan does not need tickets, climbing to the top of a Catholic church, I do not believe this, but it is good to see, climbing very tired, you can sit and rest in it, and then began to preach, and left. The scenery is still good, and the road downhill is also very good.
It was difficult to climb to the top of the hill. The uncle of the gatekeeper said that during the construction stage, the church was not allowed to enter. He could only take a picture of the outside world, take a hard road, go halfway to the hillside to worship the three saints and make a prayer to reach the goal of the trip.
Sheshan Catholic Church is situated on the top of Sheshan Mountain. It was built by French missionaries in 1871. After 64 years of construction, it was designated as the temple of the throne by the Pope of Rome and once became the Catholic center of the Far East. Into the church, the faithful and believers were very friendly. The church is also solemn and sacred, very good.
The church on the top of Sheshan Mountain, which the company climbed in autumn, although it is called the Cathedral of heaven, is actually not very different in China. Following the team, volunteers were arranged to give lectures. Listening to the lectures, we can still understand some. We can see different architectural styles in the church and keep it beautiful. It's interesting to climb a mountain and have a rest.
It's beautiful, just like the feeling of church marriage in TV series! It's beautiful. When I went there, I saw a lot of Catholics kneeling while reading the Bible. It's a sacred feeling...
The Catholic Church, located in the scenic area of Dongshe Mountain, has a strong sense of historical age. Many devout believers have followed the path of Jesus Christ's acceptance. Ordinary visitors are also well suited to feel the tranquility in church. When they meet worshippers, they can enjoy their singing. It's beautiful.
