Photos of Stanley

Stanley is a small town in northwest Tasmania on a peninsula that juts out into the sea. The town's history dates back to 1826, and many hotels in the town also claim to have a long history. Stanley is mainly engaged in fishing and tourism, and seafood must be tasted, especially crayfish; the tourist attractions are the beaches in the north of the town, and the extinct volcano TheNut, which is 152 meters above sea level in the east of the town, is more attractive. You can take the cable car. Or walk to the top of the mountain and look around the magnificent sea view, and there is a chance to see red-billed petrels at dusk in summer. If you bring your kids to Stanley, you might as well visit the Seaquarium to see how the Tasmanian Giant Crabs grow to 16 kilograms, and see the moray eels that are nearly 2 meters long. Or join a group tour to Seal Island to see over 500 Australian seals basking on Bull Rock. For a tour of historic buildings, check out Highfield, built in 1835, one of Tasmania's few Regency-era dwellings. If you have enough money, you can check into the Van Die Mendi Company store, which is now the @VDL boutique hotel, which dates back to 1844.
