Although just a visitor to Lairg (and Scotland), I found the Visitor Centre at Lairs so interesting. For example, Lairg is an area of unexplained low gravity.

Well worth a visit
This is a brilliant place as it has a wee cafe and it has a mini museum. The museum is interesting and it has a great bit for kids to play and learn.
