What people are saying:

The Shantang Street at night is very beautiful. The Guangji Road is the dividing line of the Qili Shantang. The south is very short, it is estimated that it only occupies one in seven. But the main scenic spots are concentrated in this section, and there are many tourists, including Qianlong Royal Steles, Baigongci, North Wharf, Yuhantang, ancient theaters, cruise terminals, Suzhou Chamber of Commerce Museum and so on. The north is very long, you can go to the entrance of Huqiu Scenic Area. There are very few tourists here, and there are many historical places and monuments in Suzhou, such as Shantang Carving Building, Yu's Family Temple, Shaanxi Assembly Hall, Dongqi Assembly Hall, Wuzhong Bayi Memorial Hall, Guanyin Pavilion, Five People's Tomb, The temple of the temple of en-chan, the tomb of ge xian, the stone building of the baigong dike, the gourd temple, the bao shi yizhuang yizhuang, li shi yizhuang, li hongzhang yi.

Additional Information

Introduction

Shantang Ancient Street is an ancient commercial street along the Shantang River in Northwest Suzhou. It boasts 1000 years of history and was built by the Tang Dynasty poet Bai Juyi when he was a government official in Suzhou. Today, at the southern end of the street, there is a temple built to commemorate him. Ancient bridges span across the river canals, and both sides of the canals are lined with old houses and traditional shops. In the evening, the red lanterns lining the street are reflected in the river, creating a picturesque scenery. You can take a boat ride for a fee, or find a tea house to drink tea and listen to traditional Suzhou Pingtan.
