What travelers say:
It is getting difficult to find restaurants serving Cantonese cuisines like those from Hong Kong. I remembered many years ago, there were plenty in Chinatown but this recent trip, we find chinese restaurants operated by mainland Chinese, serving mainly cuisines from Beijing or Shanghai. We were brought to this restaurant by a local and he claimed that this place is frequented by chefs from nearby restaurants after work. The place is very basic and was empty when we were there from 8.30pm till 10.30pm. We took a table for 6 and brought 2 bottles of red which we were charged corkage of five dollars each bottle, which was very reasonable. We ordered the beef tendon hot pot, deep fried flounder, a taufu dish and vegetables. The food was delicious and the price was reasonable. I can understand why this place is popular with the chefs.
