Mount Tai / Taishan Steps and steps
We climbed Taishan in January the temperature was cold especially at the top of the mountain. We climbed the route from the Red gate/ Hongmen gate this took us around 2:45hrs to reach the top with some small breaks along the way. Once at the top there is load of great view points and options for food. There is around 7000 steps up to the top but then we got the cable car and the bus back down.#newyearadventure #mountainview

Mount Tai - Visiting area and mid point
#passionpassport
Besides historic relics, this mountain boasts unique natural scenery too. The lofty peaks, deep valleys, spectacular waterfalls, enchanting rocks and the centuries-old pines and cypresses will undoubtedly encourage you linger with no thought of leaving. The four wonders here are Sunrises from the East, the Sunset Glow, the Sea of Clouds and the Golden Belt along the Yellow River. It would be a great pity to miss the four wonders. We went there on New Year evening to see sunrise. It got very cold on the top so wear accordingly. #passionpassport #beautifuldestinations #travelinspiration #traveladdict

Dai Temple Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Mar)
Springtime Guide to Photographing and Admiring Flowers at Dai Temple
Pass through the Zhongyang Gate (South Gate) to enter Dai Temple, where on the east side at the base of the wall, there are several lilacs that are not very tall, but have unique flower shapes. The flowers are plump and round, either heart-shaped or resembling chubby snowmen.
Right next to the wall, in the flowerbeds, peonies are planted, with their bright and beautiful colors; while on the west side, the flowerbeds are home to the noble peony, with its various flower shapes competing in splendor.
Along the road connecting Hanbaiyuan and Tanghuaiyuan, peach blossoms are planted on both sides, blooming so radiantly that they captivate the soul; and separating the flowerbeds from the road are the stick-tight crabapples, with clusters of bright red flowers hidden among the green branches, almost invisible from afar, only to reveal their splendor upon closer inspection.
On both sides of the Peitian Gate, there are several purple magnolias, almost the earliest blooming flowers in Dai Temple, blooming before the green leaves, heralding the arrival of spring; in front of the gate, two large white lilacs, when in bloom, waft their fragrance through the air.
From Peitian Gate to Ren'an Gate on both sides, there are two fish ponds with round and plump koi, surrounded by several cherry trees. When the flowers bloom, the spring breeze is gentle, and the branches sway, intoxicating those who see them.
Next to the side hall on the west side of Ren'an Gate, there are also two green hydrangeas, which are a feast for the eyes when in bloom.
On the corridors on both sides of the Houqin Palace, quiet wisteria covers the area, with its vines winding gracefully, an indescribable beauty.
By the red walls, the winter plum blossoms, stubbornly blooming their last bit of stunning beauty, emit a unique fragrance. And then there are the rehmannias blooming on the wall tops and in the nooks and crannies, making one marvel at the brilliance of spring. Not to mention the greenhouse flowerbeds inside the Houzai Gate (North Gate) on the west side, adorned with hibiscus, tassels, longevity flowers, water lilies, and more.

The grand ceremonies of consecration through the ages and the place of worship for the god of Mount Tai
In Dai Temple, traces of history can be found... There are several ancient cypress trees planted by Emperor Wu of Han, witnessing 2100 years of historical changes. You will realize that life is but a grain of sand in the sea.
The main building of Dai Temple is Tian Guo Hall, which is the divine palace of the Eastern Emperor. The temple houses the Tai Shan stone carvings in seal script by Li Si of the Qin Dynasty. Dai Temple, along with the Forbidden City in Beijing, the Three Confucius sites in Qufu, Shandong, and the Eight Outer Temples in Chengde Summer Resort, are known as the four major ancient architectural complexes in China.

The surging sea of clouds, the rising sun in the east, and the crystal-clear rime, Mount Tai clad in silver once again amazes from all directions~
At dawn, the sun slowly rises over the mountains, the sea of clouds tumbles wantonly under the morning light, the pine needles are coated with pristine icicles, and the branches are adorned with silver flowers, twinkling in the morning glow, adding an icy and pure elegance to this originally majestic and magnificent scenery.

Mount Tai is covered in snow, as beautiful as an ink painting
A good harvest is indicated by heavy snow, and all things come to life when the snow falls. A snowfall quietly decorates Mount Tai into a silver world, where rocks, ancient buildings, and pines and cypresses are silent and magnificent in the snow world. The heavy snow is pouring down, like the spirits falling into Mount Tai. After the snow, Mount Tai, under the cover of fog and white snow, is like a quiet and beautiful ink painting. Mount Tai's beautiful scenery is waiting for you!!!
👍Most recommended: Mount Tai is famous for its magnificent scenery. The stacked mountains, heavy bodies, the contrast of green pines and huge rocks, the changes of clouds and mists, make it both magnificent and bright, quiet and mysterious, becoming the culmination of China's famous mountains and rivers. Climbing and staying in the must-choose Taian Jinhai Railway Hotel (Mount Tai Railway Station)

Zhongtianmen Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Mar)
Checked in at Mount Tai, the scenery is picturesque!
One must ascend Mount Tai at least once to experience the grandeur of 'being at the top and looking down on all the other mountains as small'.
When climbing Mount Tai, one can truly understand the feeling of 'not fearing the clouds that obscure one's view, for one is at the highest level.'
🚉Travel Tips:
Take the high-speed train to Tai'an Station, and a 20-minute taxi ride will get you to the Mount Tai scenic area.
There are several routes to climb Mount Tai, and it is recommended to enter through Tianwai Village, take a bus to Zhongtianmen, and then take a cable car from Zhongtianmen to Nantianmen. Start walking from Nantianmen to the summit, the highest peak, Yuhuangding.
If you are physically fit, you can walk from the Hongmen scenic area to Nantianmen. This route is all about experiencing the joy of climbing Mount Tai on foot.
💰Average Cost:
The ticket package for Mount Tai's entrance and shuttle bus is 150 yuan per person, and the one-way cable car from Zhongtianmen to Nantianmen is 100 yuan per person. The bus from Tianwai Village to Zhongtianmen is 35 yuan per person. There are discounted tickets for the elderly and children, which can be purchased at the ticket checkpoint. Military personnel are exempt from the scenic area entrance fee, but there are no discounts for the shuttle bus and cable car tickets.
✅Must Experience:
Be sure to take a photo with the 5 yuan RMB at the moment of 'Wuyue is the most respected' on the top of Mount Tai! The queue is long, so if you want to take a beautiful photo, it is recommended to take the cable car up the mountain in the morning and head straight to 'Wuyue is the most respected' for a photo, or stay overnight on the mountain and go for the photo after watching the sunrise.
Mount Tai is the foremost of the Five Great Mountains, and one must check it in at least once. If financial conditions allow, hiring a guide for an explanation will lead to a deeper understanding and knowledge of Mount Tai's history!

Winter Vacation Stop 5 - Mount Tai
Winter Vacation Stop 5 - Mount Tai
Checked in at the esteemed Mount Tai, standing at 1545 meters. Ascended the mountain on foot from the Red Gate to the summit, but by the time we descended to Zhongtianmen, our legs just couldn't take it anymore, so we switched to a bus. The scenery during the ascent and descent wasn't particularly stunning, as it was mostly blocked by trees, unlike the continuous magnificent views on Mount Huangshan. However, the view from the summit was still incredibly vast!
For those cool friends who want to climb Mount Tai, remember to travel light, because the food along the way is not expensive. The mineral water I bought at the foot of the mountain was 3 yuan, halfway up the mountain it was only 2 yuan, grilled sausages were 10 yuan for three, instant noodles were 6 yuan, and only at the summit were things a bit more expensive. The entrance fee for the scenic area is 115 yuan, the bus is 35 yuan one-way, and the cable car seems to be 100 yuan.

also named Heavenly Gate Pass, is located at the end of Eighteen Twistings, at 1460 meters above sea level, built by Zhang Zhichun, an abbot in 1264, decorated by red walls and yellow glazed tiles on the roof and stone arched doorway. The cableway station is 10min away.

Mount Tai during the Spring Festival‖Summary
There were too many people visiting Mount Tai during the Spring Festival, so it's necessary to have a good mentality, be well prepared, and go with determination to have fun!
Pros:
Mount Tai, as the most prestigious of the Five Great Mountains, is still beautiful in winter, with fresh air, numerous strange rocks, and the scent of the forest.
Bad experiences:
1. In the evening, from Quancheng to Tai'an, we booked Hilton Hompton, but were told that the room could not be cleaned up. They could help us change to a nearby hotel. The operation took nearly an hour. The new hotel was newly renovated, the hardware was good, but the smell in the room was too strong.
2. The Mount Tai scenic area is already very standardized, but the details are really hard to describe. Because there were so many people, we couldn't check in at all the scenic spots. When we arrived at the South Heaven Gate, we found a snack street, which ruined the original taste of Mount Tai. There was a lot of garbage thrown by the crowd, and the environment was damaged (angry). There were quite a few restrooms, but the smell and environment were not like those of a major scenic area.
3. The emergency management of large crowds is not in place. Children and adults were separated, and there was ice and snow on the way down the mountain, causing pedestrians to fall. There was a lack of staff to divert the flow.
Lucky things:
1. Although the hotel was not satisfactory, the service was impeccable. They had slippers for children, and the details were good. We told the front desk that we were going to climb the mountain. Although it was not mealtime, they let us have breakfast. The breakfast was very rich, and we felt warm and full.
2. We didn't play with the crowd on the top of Mount Tai. We walked from Guanlu Platform to the back mountain and reached the top of Jade Emperor. There were no crowds, and we saw many strange rocks and could appreciate them quietly. That was the most relaxed and happy part of the journey.
3. Although we wanted to avoid the crowd and enter the mountain from Taohua Valley, our family still wanted to enter from Tianwai Mountain. Without thinking too much, we took the cable car to the top of the mountain in 10 minutes, which saved time for sightseeing.
4. We parked in a different way, parking around the residents. As soon as we got off the car, we met an old man selling old climbing sticks. Three for 10 yuan, which helped a lot when we went down the mountain.
5. We walked down to the Zhongtianmen Passenger Station for more than two hours. It was too congested, we had no mood to enjoy the scenery, and people were littering. We were very discouraged... Fortunately, we persisted in walking down the mountain. When we didn't have to go down the stairs, our family's mood improved. Looking back at the South Heaven Gate, it was still very shocking.
Suggestions:
1. Get up early, try to enter the mountain at 6 o'clock, especially with children. Make sure to eat warm and healthy food, so you don't have to look for a toilet all the way. If you encounter congestion, it's hard to go to the toilet...
2. It's windy on the mountain, so wear a climbing scarf, hat, and windbreaker. Shoes must be non-slip and soft-soled.
3. Bring some water and food. There's no shortage of things on the mountain, but it's really annoying to queue up when there are many people.
4. Keep to the right when going up and down the mountain. The shady places are slippery, so be careful and don't rush.
5. Women and children must bring disinfectant wipes and wet wipes, otherwise they will be at a loss when eating.
6. At noon, the snow begins to melt, and there will be mud on the ground. Some of it is ice underneath. Don't let children step on the water, they might fall.

South Heaven Gate - The end of your hard work may just be the starting point for others
After twists and turns, every step you take on the Eighteen Bends, every drop of sweat you shed, will record your joy at the South Heaven Gate.
The 'Brief History of Mount Tai' also praises the South Heaven Gate, 'On the Eighteen Bends, it soars high into the sky, with two mountains standing opposite each other, and the path of birds in the vast wilderness is tortuous. The sound of pines and the mist are confusing between the ears and the clothes. Looking down from above, the mountains seem to lie low like hills, the rivers circle like strings, the world is vast and indescribable.'
