Longshan Grottoes

The large-scale Taoist grottoes in China are located on the outskirts of Taiyuan. There are dozens of grottoes in the scenic area. The statues are exquisite and the characters are vividly depicted. It is not far from the famous Jinci Museum and can be visited together.

Tianlong Mountain Grottoes is located at the main peak of Tianlong Mountain, not far from Jinci Temple in a straight line, but the mountain road is more than 20 kilometers, and rugged and difficult to walk. The scenic spot is a national cultural protection unit, free of tickets. The two stone carvings of the gatekeeper, protected by glass at the gate of the temple, are lifelike. Tianlongshan Grottoes are small in scale, totaling more than 20 grottoes. From the Northern Wei Dynasty to the Tang Dynasty, the Buddha statues were generally preserved. The head of the Buddha statues was either weathered or stolen. There is more than one cave near Tianlong Mountain, but there are few visitors here. Those who like quiet can come and see it.

To climb to the top of the mountain to see the grottoes, the mountain is not very high, from the entrance to the top of the mountain about 40 minutes, a little tired, there is a Taoist view on the mountain. The grottoes are situated on the side of Taoist temple. There are nine grottoes. They are small in size. The entrance of the Grottoes is fenced around and can only be seen from outside. They can not be entered. It is a pity that the heads of some statues in the Grottoes have been stolen and chiseled in history.

I was attracted by the introduction of the rare Taoist grottoes. It happened to be a self-driving car. I went to visit, and the result was miserable. The parking lot bought a ticket for 20. After entering, it was a long mountaineering trail. It took a long time to climb to the top of the mountain. The grottoes had to go down a long way. Although the attraction resources are unique and it is also a national insurance, but the lack of repair and development, the travel experience is not good, and it is particularly tired.

Longshan Grottoes are Taoist Grottoes, although the scale of the mountain grottoes is small, but the carving technology is strange, the face is square. The clothes are thick, the lines are simple, the style is rough, the life is rich, the largest Taoist grottoes in North China, and the attractions are virtual emperors, three Qinghuis, sleeping Ruxuan, Xuanzhenxuan, three magesxuan, seven Zhenxuan and two defense Taoxuan.

A place with rich cultural heritage and a long history can see the wisdom and prosperity of the ancients. Unfortunately, it was too hot that day. There was no shade on both sides of the road. Parking lot has to go a long way to the ticket gate of the scenic spot. Maybe it is still planned. Hope it can do better in the future.

It takes half an hour to climb the mountain and enjoy the good places of red leaves. Longshan Grottoes is the largest Taoist Grottoes in existence in China. It is a key cultural relic protection unit in the country. It is a small-scale representative of Taoist statues in the Yuan Dynasty.
