Kyoto National Museum is one of Japan's four great national museum, and is very representative. The collection is mainly ancient Japanese artwork, divided into themes such as stoneware, pottery, paintings, everyday tools, and knives and blades -- each with its own exhibition hall. There are over eighty thousand ancient Asian handcraft artworks, including sculpture of Samantabhadra, folding screen with forest painting, Heiji period paintings, and over eighty Baishi poem collections.
