One of my favorite temples in Japan/world. Huge grand mass and scale that isn’t able to be captured via pictures. They unfortunately started making you pay to see the inside of the temple in the past couple years, but it’s absolutely worth the 600yen/person admission. The entrance hall is really huge and big, although it has been restructured to protect the original framework. Definitely worth to visit, also there's a beautiful garden in the front and side. Gets really crowded during day time. Absolutely incredible. The best structure and item I have seen in the whole of Japan. After leaving the Ouchi River Villa Garden, I walked along the river to the next destination. Then, I went to Tenryuji Temple. After leaving Tenryuji Temple, I returned to the river. Next, I plan to go to Nara. I first took the JR train back to Kyoto Station, retrieved my luggage, and then continued to take the JR train to Nara. When I arrived in Nara, the hotel I booked was near the JR station, which was very convenient haha. After checking in, I found that the view outside the window was also beautiful. I got up at 8 o'clock the next morning, and after breakfast, I took a bus to Todaiji Temple. In the small woods next to Todaiji Temple, there are signs reminding you to be careful of wild boars, haha. The little deer in the woods cuddle each other, which is touching. Nara is a perfect day trip from Kyoto. It takes about an hour by train. This is Todaiji (東大寺, Tōdaiji, "Great Eastern Temple"). It is one of the most impressive temples in Japan, and plays a major role in Japanese history through the ages. The temple was constructed in 752 as the head temple of all provincial Buddhist temples of Japan and grew so powerful that the capital was moved away from Nara in 784 in order to lower the temple's influence on government affairs. Until recently, Todaiji's main hall, the Daibutsuden (Big Buddha Hall), held the record as the world's largest wooden building, despite the fact that the present reconstruction of 1692 is only two thirds of the original temple hall's size. The massive building houses one of Japan's largest bronze statues of Buddha (Daibutsu). The 15 meters tall, seated Buddha represents Vairocana and is flanked by two Bodhisattvas.
