St Conan’s Kirk

St. Kok's is located in the village of lochawe in 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿, Scotland. It has been selected as one of the top ten buildings in Scotland in the past 100 years. I have heard many stories about children's filial piety to their parents, but if the child decides to build a church near her residence because of her mother's old age, and it is designed and built by the child, it is really unheard of. I admire it even more. This child is Walter Campbell . St. Conan's Kirk St. Conan Church was built by the British aristocrat Walter Campbell (1850-1914) in 1881-1886, then expanded in 1907 and was not completed until 1930. Walter himself was an amateur architect, collector and wonderful woodcutter. He failed to see the completion of the expanded church, and even the sister who inherited his legacy died in 1927, and was eventually completed by the family's estate trustee in 1930. Although the church was built in the early 20th century, due to the architect's hobby, the design of multiple periods mixed, the art crystallization looks like a medieval building. The church is located in the village of Awe Lake in the west of Scotland (2 hours drive from Edinburgh).
