About The Big Island (Hawaii island)

You might know that it as Waimea, but the post office didn't. When the post office demanded all towns in a state had their own name, Waimea, Maui kept its designation and Waimea on the Big Island went with the Hawaiian version of Samuel, chose for one of the town's favorite sons. Kamuela is a very different sort of Hawaiian vacation experience. Think cowpoke and ranch hands vs. beaches and mai tais. The interior town has several stunningly beautiful hotels and nine golf course, and where else on Hawaii could you tour a working cattle ranch?

Ever wanted to be up close and personal with active volcanos? There are more than enough folks in the world with a passion for active volcanos to have created what is today known as volcano tourism. To visit active volcanos without any experience right before an eruption is a very dangerous thing to do, and has more often than not resulted in fatal consequences. However, if you are a trained individual with tons of experience handling extreme conditions, then visiting the craters of active volcanos might be right up your alley.
