One souvenir I would recommend for a foreigner is 2 walnuts sold together in a pack, these are renowned for being a treatment for arthritis. This is a great place to snack on many different foods that are unique to Tianjin. The streets are decorated very colorfully and all of the vendors are very friendly.
it is close to the gulou (line 2) subway stop. but honestly nothing special. it's kinda tiny and a bit too touristy for my taste. some old shops and bookstores but again not to my liking

It was a bad rainy day when we visited the place, nevertheless the tour guide exerted her effort to make this travel as pleasing as possible.
